What is microblading?

Instead of a machine, microblading uses a hand-held tool lined with tiny needles. Each stroke is drawn by hand to imitate a brow hair, building a soft, natural shape.

Who is it for — and who isn't it for?

  • Normal to dry skin.
  • Anyone who wants a natural, hair-like brow.

Microblading is not suitable for clients with oily skin. On oily skin the strokes tend to blur and fade unevenly as they heal. If your skin is oily, combination brows are the better choice — read the oily skin guide.

What to expect

Every appointment begins with a consultation to agree the shape and colour. The strokes look darker for the first few days, then soften and may look patchy before your true result settles at around six weeks. Your top-up then refines it.

Microblading questions

Is microblading suitable for oily skin?

No. Microblading is not suitable for clients with oily skin — combination brows hold far better.

How long does microblading last?

Around 12–18 months, fading gradually. A colour top-up keeps it fresh.

What's the difference between microblading and hairstroke brows?

Both create hair-like strokes; microblading is drawn by hand with a blade-like tool, hairstroke brows with a machine. See the full comparison.
