What is lip blush?
Pigment is placed just beneath the surface of the lips to even out their natural colour, define the shape and give a soft, healthy tint. It isn't a heavy lipstick look and it isn't filler — it brings colour back to lips that have become pale, uneven or blurred at the edges.
Prefer a fuller, more defined finish with colour that deepens towards the edges? Have a look at ombre blush.
Who is it for?
- Lips that have lost colour or definition over time.
- Uneven lip colour or an uneven lip line.
- Anyone tired of reapplying lip liner and lipstick through the day.
It isn't carried out during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. If you've had filler, leave at least four weeks either side of your lip blush appointment.
Preparing for your appointment
- If you've ever had cold sores, take antiviral medication for 5 days before your appointment.
- Keep your lips well hydrated in the days before — cracked lips can't be treated on the day.
- Gently exfoliate your lips the night before.
- Avoid laser hair removal or waxing on the face for at least 7 days before.
- No caffeine on the morning of your appointment.
Healing
Your lips will look bold and darker than expected for the first few days, with some swelling. They then go through dryness, light flaking and a "ghosting" stage where colour looks faded, before the true shade settles. Aftercare makes a real difference to the final result.
- Avoid getting your lips wet or sweating while they heal.
- Avoid spicy food and drink through a straw.
- Don't touch, pick or peel — let flakes come away on their own.
- Avoid kissing and makeup on the lips until healed, and keep them moisturised.

How long does lip blush last?
Around 12–18 months, fading gradually. A colour top-up keeps it fresh: £200 at 12–18 months, or £250 at 18–24 months.
Is the 6–12 week top-up needed?
Yes — the first top-up is an essential part of the treatment. It's when your colour is perfected once your lips have healed. It costs £75.
